The city\u2019s first documented mention dates back to a parchment from <strong>June 10, 1025<\/strong>, which records a land grant by the King of Germany and future Emperor <strong>Conrad II<\/strong> to the Bishop of Novara, <strong>Peter III<\/strong>. The document references the &#8220;ponte de Varade&#8221; (Varallo Bridge) and the &#8220;Rocham Uberti de Valle Sesedana&#8221; (the castle of Roccapietra).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Official Presentation at Palazzo d\u2019Adda<\/strong><br>To kick off the celebrations, the municipal administration will host an official presentation of the 2025 event calendar on <strong>Wednesday, November 20<\/strong>, at the Conference Center of Palazzo d\u2019Adda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>An Occasion for the Entire Valsesia<\/strong><br>This important milestone goes beyond Varallo itself and extends to <strong>Alagna Valsesia<\/strong>, as the <strong>\u201calpe de Otro\u201d<\/strong> is also mentioned in the <strong>1025<\/strong> document. It\u2019s a unique opportunity for the entire <strong>Valsesia<\/strong> to strengthen its cultural identity and showcase its extraordinary artistic, historical, and cultural heritage.<br>\u201cThis celebration,\u201d explains the municipality, \u201cwill not only deepen local historical awareness, particularly among students, but also boost tourism, creating cultural and entertainment events that can generate significant economic and employment benefits, especially for young people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Partnerships and Sponsorships for a Memorable Anniversary<\/strong><br>The municipality plans to coordinate a variety of initiatives in collaboration with <strong>Alagna Valsesia<\/strong>, the <strong>Palazzo dei Musei<\/strong>, the <strong>Pro Loco<\/strong>, the <strong>Carnival Committee<\/strong>, local schools, and many other associations, organizations, and businesses from the Varallo area and beyond.
