AI enters the retirement home

A memorable and very important evening was experienced on Thursday 28 November at the A.P.A.P. of Sant’Anna in Borgosesia, a home for the elderly recognized as a true excellence in our territory.

The innovative project presented is called “ANCELIA” and adds considerable value to the already high standard of services offered in the structure. Dr. Cristina Martini, director of social and reception services, illustrated the functioning of ANCELIA: a program based on artificial intelligence, designed to improve the care of the most fragile guests. ANCELIA uses an optical sensor placed on the patient’s bed to analyze behavior and report any anomalies. This system learns from the data collected to adapt to the guest’s needs, optimizing assistance and preventing critical situations, all while guaranteeing greater autonomy for the elderly. This innovative approach represents a step forward in personalized care.

The evening was also an opportunity to delve deeper into the daily functioning of the retirement home, illustrated in detail by the director Nadia Segato. His speech highlighted both the ordinary and extraordinary aspects of management, made possible also thanks to the contribution of a large group of volunteers, represented by Fiorella Lovato.

Paolo Moretti, president of the structure, concluded the evening by expressing the desire that Casa S. Anna, as a public non-profit structure, continues to receive the support of the Municipal Administration and to be recognized as a fundamental element for the territory. This will allow the House to continue its service with ever greater attention to the needs of guests.
